Character Name: Rowan Leira Townshend
Nickname(s): Row
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Height/Weight: 160 lbs. 5'8
Hair Color: Black
Description: Rowan is in all ways a bit average. Her skin is a dark olive color, very indicative of her Spanish heritage. Her hair is a rich dark black color and probably the most pleasing feature about her. That would be if she'd ever let it out of the perpetual ponytail it lives in. Her eyes are an emerald green that have a tendency to lighten when she laughs and darken when she's upset. Their tendency is to swirl in color until her mood settles into one emotion or another. This is a girl with curves. The majority of weight resides in her chest and her hips, not something she's particularly happy about. She gets tired of randy males staring at her chest. Rowan tops out at 5 foot 8 inches and wishes to be taller so she often stands very straight in an attempt to look taller. This youngster has one tattoo across one hip. Its a small black butterfly with open wings and dark purple antenna on it. The only other identifying feature of this lovely girl is a scar that traces across her shoulder and onto her back. The scar can't be seen under her usual t-shirt, but is noticable when she is wearing a bathing suit or a tank top.
Discipline: Western
Likes: Being outside, being with close friends, riding long trail rides and camping out
Dislikes: Loud noises, pushy people, people who mistreat horses
Personality: Rowan's a bit of a mystery and at times has been called bipolar at times, though she is far from that. Mainly, she goes with her gut and at times she might simply choose to dislike or like someone based on the feeling of the moment. Mainly, she likes attention. She wants people to look at her and admire her. She also likes silence though and can be found at times wandering aimlessly alone just to hear the wind. Rowan can be friendly but she needs her space. Slightly anti-social, it is better to let Rowan come to you than pushing the issue of being friends with her. Rowan often finds herself becoming friends with other outcasts, often those who are accepted by their own species are her best friends. Generally though, Rowan is very intense which can be off putting to most. Her dislikes include clingy males or females who wish to play games, though she is often drug into such games. Her other dislikes are people who try to trap her in anyway. When she feels trapped, Rowan often becomes violent. Rowan's only secret is about who her family is, and she won't speak of it, though one could guess at least that her family is rich by the way she acts. Her only goal is to get away from her maternal grandparents who seek to make her the princess of their empire. Rowan will do anything to keep from being sucked into that. Instead, Rowan would like to be as normal as possible, often resisting the urge to change as long as she can.
History: Nineteen years ago, Jacobie and Isabella Towhshend welcomed their second and final child Rowan in the world. From a young age, Rowan's fierce attitude and abilities balanced out those of her taciturn and serious older brother, Brodie. Rowan grew up spending her time in between the US and cities in Spain. Her mother Isabella Curuso Townshend is the direct heir to an old and well off Spanish family known for breeding horses. Rowan's father Jacobie Townshend comes from a family of Wyoming cattle ranchers and horse trainers. For Rowan and Brodie it has been long decided that they will take over for their grandparents when they pass. Rowan began training to ride and train from the time she could sit astride a pony. She has practiced and shown horses from that time also. Her likes tend toward Quarter horses and Andalusians.
Things went bad, the summer Rowan turned sixteen. While her family visited her grandparents and the rest of the Carusos in Spain, tragedy struck. Rowan's mother ran off the road while driving through the mountains toward France on her way to a meeting. This left Rowan with a void that left her fearful and yet defiant towards her father who knew not how to cope with his children after the death of his much beloved wife. Jacobie pulled away from the daily running of the ranch leaving his ranch manager Gianni Costellini and his children to do most of the running. Wishing to disassociate herself from her families, Rowan has come here to see if she can make it on her own.
Rp Sample: Walking among the trees, Rowan hummed an Spanish lullaby and thought of Lisbon, New York, Paris, and London. All of the big cities she'd prefer to be in instead of here. Looking around, she sighed. She liked the lonliness here, but the problem was there was less aninimoty. It was too easy for others to come to know you here and that was the worst thing for her. No one could know who her grandparents were. It was bad enough that they might know her father's family, but worse if they found out about her mum's. Eyes turning ahead, Rowan stopped moving. It was a long walk back to her room, and the light was fading from the sky.
Turning ever so slightly back, Rowan wished that her friends were here. More importantly, she wished that Gianni was here. Though she loved and missed her brother, Rowan and Brodie butted heads to often to make his presence essential to her functioning, but in the short months that Rowan had been around Gianni he had become her best friend and like another brother. He was her appointed protector until her family moved her here. Growling, she began to stomp back to the room she had here. At least this forest would suffice to hide her form at full moon. Even though there were many other paranormals here, Rowan could be a danger to them all. She had killed vampires and others before and could do so again so it was best for her to have space when she changed.
As she came back to the building she lived in, Rowan moved among the shadows and walked up the stairs to her second story room. As she opened the door, she closed her eyes and hoped again that one of her friends would have popped by to see how she was doing. Alas, she opened her eyes to an empty dark room. Flipping on the light, she threw herself on her new black futon. Cuddling against a lush microfleece blanket, Rowan sighed and closed her eyes again. She wished for the warmth of Lisbon in the summer or the sound of the sea on the beaches when they visited the coast. One year, her father had promised that she only had to be here one year without anyone else. Brodie was staying at a different boarding school and Gianni was playing errand boy for his coven. Getting up, she turned the light off, crawled into her satin sheets and fell asleep.
